Another Mess
Tuesday, January 6, 2009
Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by. I hope all of our readers had a nice holiday season. Now, let's talk weather. We have yet another huge winter storm system coming into the area for tonight. Current models and forecasts I've looked at seem to indicate things will start out as snow this evening, and then make the transition over to sleet and freezing rain overnight. A brief warm-up will be in store for areas around Syracuse and points south from there between about 7 and 10am tomorrow, as points north of Syracuse will hover just below the freezing point throughout the length of the system. This will mean more snow and mainly a wintry mix event for places like Fulton, Oswego, and over to Rome and Oneida as well. Baldwinsville, down to Syracuse, into Ithaca and Cortland will see snow, then a brief period of ice, then some rain showers to round out the day tomorrow. At any rate, it's going to be a busy next 24 hours. Stay tuned, and if you have to head out tomorrow morning, do so with caution.
